Objective
To verify the truth table of the IC 7408 (Quad 2-Input AND Gate) using a breadboard, wires, and LEDs.

Theory
The IC 7408 contains four independent 2-input AND gates. The truth table for a 2-input AND gate is as follows:

Procedure

Setup Power Supply: Connect the VCC pin (Pin 14) of the IC 7408 to the positive rail (+5V) on the breadboard and the GND pin (Pin 7) to the negative rail (0V).

Connect Inputs:
- Connect SPST switches to Pins 1 (1A) and 2 (1B) for the first AND gate inputs.
- Connect SPST switches to Pins 4 (2A) and 5 (2B) for the second AND gate inputs.
- Ensure one side of each switch is connected to +5V and the other side to the input pins.

- Connect LEDs in series with 220-ohm resistors from the output pins (3 (1Y) and 6 (2Y)) to ground. This will allow you to see the output of each gate.
